About the Pastor
Grant was born in Paisley, but was often on the move with his father's work. He was baptised in Cheshire when he was 16 years old.
Two years later, and being keen to returm to Scotland, he chose to study Modern History at St Andrew's and then Social Work in Aberdeen.
Grant met his wife in Aberdeen and they married in June 1991, moving to Staffordshire where Grant became a manager of childrens homes.
Grant again felt the desire to return to Scotland and the couple moved to Dumfries in 1995, where they joined Dumfries Baptist Church. All three of their
children are "Doonhamers" (they were born in Dumfries).
On the day his father died in 1996, Grant had his first experience of being filled by the Spirit of God. He received a conclusive reassurance that his Dad had gone to be with Christ and decided to offer his own life to God. He expressed the desire in prayer to "go anywhere" for God, and God once again spoke clearly. Grant left Social Work to complete a BA in Theology at The International Christian College in Glasgow.
He and his wife joined BMS World Mission, and were seconded to Tunisia. They went to Tunisia via periods of cross cultural and language study in Birmingham and Paris. In response again, to the call of God in their lives, Grant and the family have found the road back to Scotland after 71/2 years away.
On 30 April 2011, Grant was Ordained as a Minister first, and then Inducted as Pastor of Carbrain Baptist Church.
